Arun Ghosh is a British Asian clarinettist and composer. A renowned innovator of the modern IndoJazz style, he was recently awarded 'Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year' at the 2014 Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
Conceived in Calcutta, bred in Bolton, matured in Manchester and living in London, Ghosh's musical style represents his rich cultural heritage. He is a leading light on the UK and international jazz scenes, captivating audiences and critics with his passionate and dynamic performance style, eloquent musical expression and a healthy dose of rock 'n' roll spirit.
He has released three critically acclaimed albums, Northern Namaste (2008), Primal Odyssey (2011) and A South Asian Suite (2013) on camoci records, and he has appeared on the cover of Jazzwise and Jazz UK magazines in recent years. He performs and tours nationally and internationally, and his music receives regular airplay across local, national, international and online radio. Also a prolific composer, working primarily in the world of theatre and dance, he has worked on over 40 professional productions.
