The Dutch gypsy jazz legends - Tim Kliphius and Paulus Schaffer
Direct from Grapelli Camp (Netherlands) and DjangoFest (USA) J-Night proudly present two of the finest gypsy jazz musicians in the world today.
Violinist Tim Kliphuis’ style is totally new, yet steeped in tradition, taking the music of Vivaldi, Beethoven and Paganini, blending it with Grappelli’s gypsy jazz, then adding celtic folk and world music techniques.
Paulus Schäfer was born into the Dutch Sinti (Gypsy) community and is today one of the most talented Gypsy Jazz guitarists in Europe, tutored by Wasso Grünholz – a legend within the Sinti community – and his nephew Stochelo Rosenberg.
Together with their band they will evoke the true spirit of Django Reinhardt.
