Peter Edwards is a composer, arranger and award winning bandleader. He is an alumnus of the Tomorrow’s Warriors Young Artist Development Programme, for which he is now a member of the music leader faculty. He has been the Musical Director of the Nu Civilisation Orchestra since 2010, and has received commissions from creative producers Tomorrow's Warriors, The British Film Institute, the London Jazz Festival and Turner Sims. He began his career arranging and directing Duke Ellington's The Queen's Suite for jazz orchestra and, since then, has gone on to direct projects featuring artists such as poet Lemn Sissay, vocalist Zara McFarlane and has composed/arranged music for dance, film and the concert hall. His music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio3, Jazz FM and has been performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Montreal Jazz Festival and the British Film Institute Southbank.
