A Brief History of the Coolest Instrument in the World

A Brief History of The Coolest Instrument in the World, devised by Chris Montague, marks the milestones of the electric guitar through 80 years of popular culture, from Chuck Berry to Jimi Hendrix.

This show celebrates the great guitarists through the ages via a mixture of performance and speech, celebrating the versatility of the instrument.

One of the UK’s most innovative guitarists and a founder member of Troyka, Chris Montague is widely recognised for his skills as a composer and performer. He’s joined in this concert by Conor Chaplin (bass), Tim Giles (drums), and Michael L Roberts (vocals/piano).

This unique live show also provides the opportunity for local guitarists to perform an original composition with Chris and his band on stage at the beginning of the performance. Pupils from Maybury School and an ensemble of local amateur guitarists will be opening the show on the 11th.

Produced in association with Serious, EFG London Jazz Festival and the Hull Music Hub
