J-Night is one of the leading producers of world jazz in the North of England.
We’ve produced the Hull Jazz Festival (summer and winter editions) for over 25 years and we deliver a year-round festival offer in Hull, using our ability to build, maintain and develop effective partnerships with organisations including Hull Truck Theatre, Freedom Festival, Hull Music Hub, University of Hull Creative Campus and Hull City Council.
We produce programmes that give audiences access to high quality artists and we provide developmental opportunities for national, regional and local artists, through commissioning and mentoring.
J-Night is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England, a founder of Jazz North and the Jazz Promotion Network, a creative partner of Freedom Festival and we were proud to be a support organisation for Hull 2017 UK City of Culture.
We're a commissioning partner for the 2017 and 2019 PRSF New Music Biennial at the South Bank Centre and Hull, in association with Absolutely Cultured.
Our principal national partners are Serious and Tomorrows Warriors.
